Vireya Hybrids
2011 - 2012 prices are listed in our catalogue which you can download from the Catalogue page.

All plants are bushy, well shaped and hardened off ready for planting. The Vireyas are in hard 17 cm plastic pots, and heights excluding the container range from 20 to 40 cm depending on variety. Look in About Us for a photo of a plant ready for sale.

ALEKSANDR
Beautiful large scented trusses in warm pink tones, creamy yellow in the throat. Tall upright bush. Bold foliage. Height 1.5m.

ARAVIR
Beautiful crisp clear highly scented white flowers. Compact semi-spreading growth habit. Height 1m.

BOLD JANUS
Has bold foliage forming a large shrub with beautiful large apricot flowers with a light perfume. It flowers as a young plant and is a consistent performer. Height 1.5m.

BUTTERMAID
Full rounded trusses of up to 22 pale yellow flowers with a light suffusion of orange. Very stunning when in full flower. Vigorous grower. Height 1.5m.

CAMEO SPICE
Large creamy apricot flowers spiced with a cinnamon fragrance, 4 to 6 per truss. Vigorous grower with bold felted leaves. Height 1.5m.

CAPTAIN SCARLET
Large trusses of orange red lightly scented flowers on a strong growing shrub. Flowers well when young. Height 1.2m.

CARILLON BELLS
Dainty melon pink bells 4cm long hang in clusters on a tidy small leafed plant. Very pretty. Height 50cm.

CHARMING VALENTINO
Attractive foliage plant with a tidy habit. Rich salmon red flowers. Suitable for containers, baskets and ground growing. Height 1m.

CHERRY LIQUEUR
Large cherry red scented flowers shading to a creamy centre. Bold dark green foliage on a large strong growing shrub. Height 1.5m.

CHERRY PIE
Large cherry pink flowers with a tropical glow. Bold rounded foliage on a spreading well shaped bush. Recommended for a hanging basket. Height 1m.

CORAL CHANCE
Bright coral orange delicate starry flowers on a vigorous bushy plant. Hardy and flowers well. Height 1.2m.

CORAL FLARE
Soft coral pink flowers. Always attracts attention. This plant has a spreading habit, which makes it ideal for a hanging basket. Height 1m.

CORAL SEAS
Beautiful coral orange flowers with a tinge of yellow in the throat. Strong bushy shrub. Consistent flowering from a young age. Height 1.2m.

CORDIAL ORANGE
Small bright orange flowers in clusters of 3-4. Distinctive long narrow foliage and compact habit. Height 1m.

CREAM SERENE
If you are looking for cream this one is the one. Medium sized flowers in a honey cream shade with a ruffled edge. Forms a good rounded bush and strong growing. Height 1.2m.

DAWN CHORUS
Pink lobed flowers shading to a creamy yellow throat, delicate tonings. New growth has a distinctive red flush. Very showy. Compact shrub. Height 1.2m.

DEJA VU
Beautiful large mid pink highly scented flowers with a cream centre. Medium sized shrub. Height 1.2m

DR SAX
Like an expanded version of Saxon Glow. This one though has vivid coral pink flowers with a white throat and tube. Good hardy plant and flowers well. A Richard Currie hybrid. Height 1m.

ELEGANT BOUQUET
Large creamy white perfumed flowers on an upright shrub. Vigorous growth habit. Height 1.5m.

FELICITAS
Crisp white star like tubular flowers with a frilled edge to the petals. Highly scented with a hint of pink in the throat. Good compact habit, does well in a container or basket. Height 1m.

FIRST LIGHT
This is much like 'Star Posy' although the foliage is a deeper green and of heavier texture. The flowers are also a deeper shade of pink. Lightly scented. Height 1m.

FLAMENCO DANCER
Very similar to 'Orangemaid'. Full trusses of up to 22 flowers in golden orange on a tall vigorous shrub. Height 1.5m.

FLASH DANCE
Very large vivid red orange flowers with a softer yellow throat. Similar to the ever popular Tropic Glow but with larger flowers and more intense colour. Forms a large upright bush. Height 1.5m.

FLASH HARRY Our own hybrid released in 2008.
Very vivid cherry pink scented flowers with a softer creamy yellow in the throat. Flowers young and flowers often. Has good constitution and forms a well rounded shrub with deep green foliage. A winner! Height 1.2m.

FRAGRANTEM
Stunning very large highly scented white flowers with a tinge of pink in the throat. Large bold green foliage. Height 1.2m.

FROSTED CANDY
Large trusses of cream to white with a frosted pink edge to the flower. Very showy. Strong upright foliage with bronze new growth. Lightly scented. A Jury hybrid. Height 1.5m.

GARDENIA ODYSSEY
Tall and robust, it has heavily felted leaves. Beautiful large creamy white strongly scented flowers. Height 2m.

GILDED SUNRISE
These large golden yellow flowers of 7 to 8 per truss make for a striking display. Vigorous growth to a height of 1.5m.

GOLDEN CHARM
Good full truss of golden apricot flowers. This plant has red stems and coppery glossy foliage. Good compact bushy habit. Height 1m.

GOLDEN GIRL
Large waxy golden orange bells with beautiful shade tones. The foliage is glossy and forms a strong upright shrub. Height 1.2m.

GWENEVERE
Lovely white scented flowers with a hint of pink in the throat. Full rounded truss. Good shaped shrub with dark green foliage. Height 1.2m.

HALOED GOLD
Lovely large clear golden yellow flowers with a thin frilled edge of orange. Good vigour. Height 1.2m.

HIGHLAND WHITE JADE
A lovely white vireya with long tubular upright flowers with a hint of yellow, nicely scented. Each truss has up to 10 flowers, which gives a starburst effect. Good bushy habit. Height 1.2m.

HUGH REDGROVE
Large bright tomato red flowers with black anthers. Dark reddish glossy foliage, very attractive. Height 1m.

JANET
Beautiful large scented flowers in soft pink tones. Large bold foliage on a medium upright shrub. A Richard Currie hybrid. Height 1.2m.

JAVA LIGHT
Beautiful large tropical vivid orange flowers. Bright glossy green foliage. Has good vigour and flowers well. Forms a well rounded shrub. Height 1.2m.

JAVA ROSE
Large full trusses of rosebud double flowers that are deep orange in colour and margined in red. Good glossy foliage like Shepherds Warning and Captain Scarlet. Height 1.3m.

JEAN BAPTISTE
Beautiful large scented creamy white flowers, sometime showing a hint of pink and an extra set of petals in the centre of each flower. A compact shrub with glaucous foliage. Height 1.2m.

Coral red flowers with a paler base to each petal. Scented. Bold strong foliage on a large shrub. Height 1.5m.

KISSES
Pink lobed flowers shading to a cream throat. Compact tidy shrub. Very similar to 'Dawn Chorus'. Height 1m.

KRAKATOA
Large vigorous shrub. Glossy lighter green foliage similar to Captain Scarlet and Shepherds Warning. Large flowers in a burnt orange colour. Height 1.2m.

LEMON LOVELY
Large soft lemon flowers. Long narrow foliage on a tall upright shrub. Height 1.2m.

LITTLEST ANGEL
Clusters of red bells on a semi prostrate plant makes it ideal for a hanging basket. Height 30cm.

Beautiful bicolour with creamy yellow throat and apricot lobes. Has good vigour and shape. Height 1m.

Beautiful soft apricot salmon flowers on a medium sized bush. Similar in size and colour to Salmon Star. Height 1m.

MARGARET JANE New Release for 2011
A self-sown seedling from 'Solar Flare'. Beautiful bronze pink new foliage with mature foliage having a bronze look to it. Flowers are a soft mix of apricot and cream with soft pink hues. Scented. A good performer. Height 1.2m.

MINTY Our own hybrid released in 2009.
This has beautiful highly scented tubular white flowers. The bush has a compact habit. Height 1m.

NE-PLUS-ULTRA
A good compact vigorous grower, one of the best reds. 8 to 10 medium sized flowers per truss. Glossy green foliage. Height 1m.

NOELLE SENSATION
Vibrant orange red flowers with a touch of soft yellow in the throat and tube of the flower. Very eye catching. Forms a compact rounded shrub with deep green foliage. A Richard Currie hybrid. Height 1.2m.

OS'S GOLD
Beautiful golden yellow flowers with a tinge of apricot. Foliage is glossy with a tinge of copper. Forms a good rounded shrub. Height 1.2m.

OUR MARCIA

PARTY FROCK Our own hybrid released in 2009.
This plant has the wow factor and has been most admired and requested. A very feminine flower. It has a two-tone effect, a white flower with pink at the base going back to white in the tube. Scented. Medium sized bush. Height 1.2m.

PASTENELLO
Large scented creamy yellow flowers in a full truss. Forms a strong large bushy shrub. Similar to Gardenia Odyssey. Height 1.5m.

PEACH GLOW
Medium to large flowers in peach apricot tones with a darker flare in the throat. Very eye catching. Forms a large upright shrub. A Jury hybrid. Height 1.5m.

PINDI PEARL
Large fragrant soft pink flowers with a creamy yellow throat. Very similar in growth and looks to 'Cameo Spice' but with a sweeter scent. Height 1.5m.

PINK DELIGHT
Full truss of tubular rich pink flowers. Good compact growth habit. Always popular. Height 1m.

PINK JAZZ
Bright pink scented flowers with a softer creamy yellow in the throat. Coppery red new growth, similar to Solar Flare. Forms a bushy shrub. Height 1.3m.

PLUM DROPS
Certainly a different colour tone for a vireya. Deep wine to plum pink bells on a compact bush. Good glossy foliage. Height 1m.

RASPBERRY TRUFFLE
Deep raspberry pink tubular bell shaped flowers on a compact plant. Foliage is aromatic when crushed. Height 90cm.

RED MOUNTAIN
Good compact grower with rich dark red bell shaped flowers. Vigorous and hardy grower. Height 1m.

Large scarlet orange flowers in a large rounded truss, lightly scented. Strong vigorous plant with light green foliage. Height 1.5m.

A compact easy to grow plant with its new bright copper foliage that matures to a deep green with red stems and mid ribs. The large flowers, up to 9 per truss, are a vivid clear pink with a rich scent of carnations. Height 1.2m.

TICKETY BOO Our own hybrid released in 2009.
Lovely clear glowing apricot peach flowers softening in the throat. A good rounded compact shrub with plenty of vigour. It is a reliable performer both in growth and in flower. Height 1.2m.

Creamy yellow flowers with a hint of rose on the petal edges. Good sized trusses on an upright vigorous shrub. Height 1.5m.

TRIFLE
Large soft apricot flowers with a lighter throat. Bold glossy green foliage on a well rounded shrub. Height 1.5m.

TROPIC CORAL
Bright salmon red flowers on a well rounded bush with dark green foliage. A good performer and flowers well. Height 1.2m.

TROPIC GLOW
Similar to 'Simbu Sunset' with its showy flowers. The orange lobes with yellow throat are more intense in colour in this hybrid. Height 1.5m.

VANILLA SLICE
Beautiful creamy clear open flowers with a dusting of pink speckles in the throat, deepening to creamy yellow in the base of the flower. Lightly scented. Very free flowering from a young age. Good strong growing shrub that forms a well rounded shape. New foliage has a bronzy hue, shading to dark green with age. Richard Currie hybrid. Height 1.2m.

Released in 2008. This highly rated hybrid is a 'Solar Flare' PVR seedling raised by New Zealander Richard Currie.

VLADIMIR BUKOVSKY
Flowers are bright orange with a paler throat. Low growing with a spreading habit. Ideal for a larger hanging basket. Height 1m.

WATERMELON DREAM
Huge trusses of scented watermelon pink flowers with ruffled edges to the petals. Large bold foliage. Impressive. Height 1.5m.

WATTLEBIRD
A strong growing tall shrub with clear yellow flowers. Similar to 'Gilded Sunrise'. Height 1.5m
