SCHOOLING & EARLY ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Secondary education was on an Accelerated Christian Education Correspondence School course for five years until the end of 1995. I recieved an A.C.E. pass in Maths, English, History, Science and Biology.
1994 OCTOBER
- I obtained a private pilots licence flying a Cessna 152. I also have a rating for a Cessna 172.

1995 OCTOBER- I spent 10 days as part of the crew on a large 45.2 metre, 244 tonne (displacement) 3 masted Barquentine, the 'Spirit of New Zealand'. We travelled the the New Zealand coast north of Auckland.
A Certificate obtained. (56k). Also gained was a NZ Coastguard "Safe Boating Certificate"
- In 1995 I attended a "Gas and Manual Arc Welding" course and a "Small Engine" course (dismantling and assembling small engines) at a local Educational College.
1996 MARCH to MAY 1998
- Employed at CASTLEPOINT STATION as a shepherd with team of working dogs, and rising to the position of head shepherd. Castlepoint is a large coastal property on the south east coast of the North Island of New Zealand comprising of over 8000acres and carrying 22,000 head of sheep, 600 head of cattle, and deer. The first year was spent living alone on an outstation of the property cooking for myself. I trained my own working dogs which were also successful in district dogtrial competitions. Much of the country was steep hill country and quad bikes were used instead of horses. I obtained also the first stage certificate in shearing sheep.

1998 MAY
- The TONGA TRIP. Sailed as part of a four man crew aboard the 36ft yacht 'Ruben Jane' from Tauranga NZ to Atata island in Tonga. This was an eleven day, 1200 mile trip in open seas

1998 JUNE to JUNE 2000:
- WAI-ITI ROMNEY STUD. After leaving Castlepoint Station I moved inland and took on a more responsible position at Wai-Iti Station, a 2000 acre high production hill country property where I became experienced with Stud cattle and sheep.
JOB DESCRIPTION. A copy of the requirements I was to fulfill at this property. The owner contacted me requesting I should work for him after speaking with my previous employer.

2000 JUNE to AUGUST 2000:
- After leaving Wai-iti and before going on my OE, I was offered employment with BRIAN MCLAY, a big time grazier and horticultural consultant. My work entailed day to day management of thousands of head of sheep and cattle spread around about 40 medium to large properties within about a 40 mile radius of Hastings.
