24 Keen players turned up for "The Chronicles of War Scenario - The Battle For Power". Even though at 5am Sunday morning it was raining cats and dogs here in Nelson, a lot of registered players never made it, put off by the bad weather, but the decision was made to play on no matter what. The first hour the wind was blowing and it was not looking good, but by the time everyone was ready to battle the sun was out and the wind had gone!

Each team took up position at each end of the speed ball field, their first mission was to deploy from their drop ships (Start Barricade) and head to the center of the field to locate their base station map. After the start was sounded it was a hail of paint from both ends and players all over the show, but what started as a hail of paint and players everywhere ended very quick as each team located there base map and moved their teams to locate their base station and the first map showing the location of power cell one of four.

The Missions.
Both teams quickly found their bases and deployed their Cell and Devastator squads to attack and locate their power cells. The Blood
attack Angels Cell squad managed to flank the Dark Legion and find the location of their first cell and return it to their base, as their Devastator squad engaged the Dark Legion in the center of the field, the Blood Angel Devastators put up a good fight but the Dark Angels over powered them with more marines. They then quickly moved to locate their first cell and return it to their base. The battle for the second cells placed both teams in the center of the field where both teams engaged in a massive fire fight that played out for 30 minutes moving back and forward... while each team took a position then lost it.

Popping smokeMeanwhile the Blood Angels sent their 3 man Cell squad around the right flank to locate cell 2. Also in their evil minds, a cunning plan to steal the Dark Legion cell. The Dark Legion were unaware of this and only had a single marine in their base, he was quickly over powered and they stole the cell and headed to the left flank and engaged the Dark Angel squads who were still battling in the center field with the other Blood Angels, they had no idea they were coming and a lot of them were eliminated. Then they headed back to base, returned their cells and headed out for cell number 3. Cells 3 and 4 were taken easly by the Blood Angels. Meanwhile, the Dark Legion only managed to get one of their cells. The Dark Legion sent in a solo marine who managed to grab all the cells but was eliminated only 20 meters from their base and all the cells were returned.Ambush

The Blood Angels last objective was to locate the power box, return it to their base, place all the cells inside of it and then return to their drop ship location and deploy smoke for pick up from a command ship... which they had to hold for 20 minutes. They managed to locate the box very quickly then return it to their base undetected by the Dark Legion. Once there, they loaded all power cells in to it and headed to their drop ship area to deploy the smoke. The Dark Angels sighted the smoke, and sent their full force there in a full scale assault, but after 20 minutes they could not take over the power box and the Blood Angels won the Battle For Power scenario.

Good effort from all the guys. All and all a great day of paintball and a huge thanks to Black-Ops
attacking Factory for organizing and videotaping the event. For all the players there, Portal Productions are still working on the Easy Company paintball video, and the scenario footage has been given to them to add to the video so will be available soon.

Thanks to all the players that turned up.

~Regards,
Black Ops Team
