Day of Days 8 Hour Scenario

Tockly 05/11/2004Americans

September 26th, Nelson's first 8 hr Scenario saw 40 players take up their positions on the front line at Happy Valley. The Scenario looselyfollows the path of the American 101st Airborne during WWII. There were two teams, the American team (Easy Company) and the German team. Points where awarded for each mission won.

Mission 1:
The first of six 1 hr missions got under way out in the open with minimal cover, the Americans using fifteen minutes just figuring out how they where going to dislodge the Germans from their
German high ground position. The American team advanced slowly sending small teams ahead to probe the German's defence.

The Germans twin gun fired into life and sent streams of paint towards the American’s General as he zigzagged towards some cover. What an awesome sound to hear up to 40 paintball guns all firing at once. The German's left flank fell and it looked like the Americans were about to take control, many of the German team had to hastily return from the hospital zone, and only just managed to take control back from the American team. Germans 1, Americans 0

Mission 2:
American’s objective to take out the four German’s gun emplacements. The American’s were making their way along the road to their next objective when they where ambushed by some of the German team. The German team unleashed a hail of paint on some unlucky Americans as they where being transported to the next mission. The Americans manage to take three of the four gun emplacements but couldn’t gather enough momentum to take the final gun. Germans 2, Americans 0

Mission 3:
Mission 3 was abandoned, after 15 minutes of hard slog got the Americans no where; this was in part of the pine forest with a large impassable gully and a steep incline where the Germans had the upper hand.

Mission 4:
Eliminate the German commander. Played in another part of the pine forest, a little bit flatter this time. The German team had sneakily sent a small team ahead to eliminate the American's General. This plan was foiled by the Americans. Unfortunately the German’s General got itchy feet and led an attack on the Americans and was eliminated in the process. Germans 2, Americans 1

Mission 5:
Push back the Germans from a critical intersection to allow the Americans transport through.
This proved hard with the Germans twin gun covering the road ahead. The Americans sent a team to flank the Germans position and were wiped out, that’s what the Germans thought, one American survived to come right roundPlayers stop behind the Germans and eliminate over half the German team. The American's transport raced up the road and made the turn at the intersection. Germans 2, Americans 2

Mission 6:
The final push for the Americans through swamp, a band of native bush, willows and a paddock of tussock, the American's objective to take the four German flags in the surrounding area. The
Americans moved quickly through the swamp to take two flags and on to the third flag, the Americans crept through the tussock popping up now and then. Popping off Germans as they advanced. The Germans finally regroup to defend the last flag The game finish with both teams stuck at a bottle neck in the field preventingGermans any more forward movement by the Americans.

Final count for the day, who cares, it was a great day of paintball.

Thanks to all the players who made this event enjoyable for all. Thanks also to the out of town players for travelling, some came quite a distance. It was good to see some new faces as well. We have had a few negatives, but we had plenty of positives, which have made us more determine to put on an even better Scenario in the near future. Less hills and more action for both teams I promise. See you all next time.
