Q: How come you don't have paintball videos on this site? Q: Who runs this website? A: Jamie Innes. Also known as "Jimmy" or "Jimbo", depending on who you talk to. I'm a dedicated bushballer from Christchurch. Q: Why do some articles refer to it as a "marker", and others a "gun"? A: Initially, some of the articles were hosted on www.Paintball.co.nz. They are still there, however management of that site prefered I use more politically correct terminology when writing articles. In 2006, this website was developed, and the articles were copied over. Since then, I am free to discontinue using politically correct terms. Q: Why do some of the pictures tend to repeat themselves throughout the website, and where do all the pics come from? A: My access to original paintball photographs is limited, and thus a great deal of them are re-used at least once. Many are taken of the players in Christchurch, or other south island players. A few images are pics contributed from overseas players, but most of the images come from New Zealand. If you would like to contribute your own paintball pictures, send me an email and I will gladly peruse them and pick out suitable photos for publication. [TOP]
Q: What's with all the spelling mistakes and typos?A: I am a mediocre typist, and my HTML editor has no spellcheck. Instead I repeatedly proofread the site, but still miss typos :) Q: How come there are international suppliers listed in the links section? don't you want players to look after local suppliers? A: Of course I want players to look after local suppliers, but I want players to look after themselves first. Most people have an allegiance to the allmighty dollar before anything else, so I encourage people to look everywhere for a deal that suits them... this includes overseas vendors, I do not believe in telling people who live in a free democratic monarchy... that it's okay to buy from "X", but not from "Y". Q: How come the website has such a basic/boring/crappy layout? A: The focus of the website is on the content, not the layout. I have designed much nicer and more elaborate websites than this once, but for ease of use for both reading, and updating... I prefer a simple format. People come here for the content, not the style. Q: How come you declined my entry to be listed in the Battalion? A: Because you didn't meet the mandatory requirements, which are... NAME, LOCATION, and PHOTO. Usually people forget (or are too lazy to include) the photo. Be sure to read the requirements before submitting your form. Q: How can I submit an article? A: My email address is listed on the contact info page. There are also article submission guidelines. Q: How can I submit pictures? A: My email address is listed on the contact info page. There are also photo submission guidelines. [TOP]
Q: What's the deal with easter eggs, hidden content? A: Hidden content makes the website just a little more fun to peruse. At least until such time as you've found all the easter eggs. They are pretty static, they don't get moved or changed. (I'm too busy for that sort of nonsense). They do also serve a secondary purpose, some articles I prefer to 'sit on' for a while, and I later go back and change them, or add to them. Keeping some of them 'hidden' for a while, makes them acessible, but not part of the main archive. Usually there are at least 2 hidden articles. Q: How come you don't have paintball videos on this site? A: 1) NZ made paintball videos are few and far between, 2) This site is currently hosted on IHUG, hosting videos would send my monthly internet bill through the roof. |
