| Opoutere is a small township on the eastern side of the Coromandel
Peninsula, just 10km north of Whangamata. This peaceful community is
nestled on the edge of the Wharekawa Harbour (an estuary) and 15
minutes nature walk to the remote Ocean Beach stretching out for more than 4km. The
spit on Ocean Beach is home to the endangered NZ Dotteral and many Oyster
Catchers and other waterfowl. |
