This aeroplane is kitted by Dynaflite, and is based around the world war one fighter, of the se5a. It has a wing span of some 65",and this makes it a sports scale, MANZ legal.
The engine I have used on this particular model is a Magnum 91FS, and up till now I am very pleased with it's performance. The radio gear is all of Mr Futaba, with 5 servo's, 2 for ailerons. 1 rudder. 1 elevator and 1 for engine.
The basic build of the model sticks closely to the Dynaflite kit with the exception of shortening the cabanes to the top wing to get a more scale appearance, and the U/G fairing's and suspension using the now world famous 'sheep castration ring'method.
The model was covered with coverall, doped, and then I used Mitre10's cheapest water based paint, the decals used are the one's supplied with the kit.
The maiden flight was done at the clubs picnic day. This flight was undertaken by the very able Alan Wooster. The flight was a nice gentle affair to the onlooker, but I think a little more was happening inside my mind.
