I will never own another dog again.

My Georgia was the most beautiful Sammy ever. She was my best friend, my guradian,my daughter, my baby, my life.
She was smart, funny, well behaived, playful and could run like the wind. Georgia developed some arthritis in her later years, but it never seemed to slow her down when I'd take her to our beach house in Monterey, California. We'd get up at 5am, buy coffee and share a old fashioned, plain doughnut and walk the beach.

She would chase birds and steal other dogs toys. Then make
them chase her to get it back. I'd tell her to 'let go' and
she'd run back to me with that beautiful smile and seemed
to be laughing at all of us. Ain't this fun, Mom? she
She had her own seat in our van and would ride with the window open and 'sing' to the passing cars, as if to say..."I'm going on a trip.Aren't I beautiful!"

Georgia died of cancer almost two years ago, licking the tears from my eyes as she closed hers for the final time.
She was 12 years old. The hurt and loss for her is as strong today as it was that horrible day in March.

I'm telling you this not because or your love of this breed, but because I was in your beatuiful city just this last September. I have never seen a land so beautiful as
New Zealand, and other than Queenstown, Auckland was my
favorite city. Especially the Angus Steak house, the Sky
Tower and the Harbor...that beautiful harbor. We went
sailing one day and although I'm a California girl, I'd
move there in a New York Minute !

Thanks for letting me 'visit' your site. Keep up your good
work with this wonderful breed.

Bentara Samoyeds and our family go back many years. We first met at a Dog Show at Kumeu Showgrounds around 1976. We were at our first show and from that day forward met a lot of lovely people and have many memorable moments.
We joined the Auckland Provincial Samoyed Assoc. and I became Editor of the magazine for a few years, we travelled near and far to show our dogs.
Our two children grew up thinking dogs were their brothers and sisters, aunties and uncles. Dogs were very much part of our lives, or should I say, we were part of their lives.
Through the Dog World we met so many people we are thankful for knowing and some today I still have contact with now I am living in Australia.
Memories: Fran (deceased) & Noel Wilson (see now and then); Eli Maitland (living in Aus.) see her now and then; Una & Karen Bell (haven't seen in years); Trevor (deceased) & Denise Cohen (see often, living in Aus.); Pai Paki (NZ, keep in touch at Christmas); Margaret Renneberg (deceased); Gwen & Tony Zentveld (NZ, keep in touch via email); Judith Harris (NZ) met recently haven't seen in years. There are probably more I can't remember at the moment.
If anyone is thinking of having a go at the Show World, I encourage you. We had a ball.
Now living in Australia I have reduced the family and the dogs and the husband. (Not in that order). My last Sammy deceased aged 14years, he was one of Trev & Denise Cohens boys, "Boof". Best Friends Will Always Be Remembered.
