October 2009: Carriers have increased the costs of using premium message services (the 4422 shortcode we use now), so it is no longer economic to use this as method to receive revenue to enable us to operate the service. Also, the new carrier 2Degrees does not support shortcode 4422. This service will be discontinued in November and replaced with a subscription service. $6.95 per month paid by direct credit will enable you to continue to use the service and includes 10 free alarm notifications free every month.
Additional TXTs will cost 20c, and will be charged in arreas. Existing users will be notified by TXT of the change. All you need to do is set up a Direect Credit to continue to use the service. This will also se the end to the Guard Services option, as incoming messages will no longer be accepted on 4422.
November 2009: The 50c charge per message using shortcode 4422 has now been dropped. The 10 free TXTs per month for the standard subscription has now been operating for a month. The transition has been seamless with all customers enjoying continuity of service.
