Subscriptions



The subscriptions for the year ending 31 March 2012 are now due.

Our Treasurer would appreciate prompt payment.

The subscriptions are:

  • Senior $90.00
  • Family $100.00
  • Junior $35.00



Power Flying Competitions



The dates are on the "Calendar of Events" page, so set some time aside. There's plenty of opportunity to sharpen up those flying skills over the coming year. No need to be there for every event or to compete in both completions, the main thing is participation to keep these friendly competitions alive in the club.

Here's how it works:-


Tom Fox Cup


For scale/semi scale models that are identifiable as a known aircraft.

Eight flight manoeuvres to be flown in sequence.

  • Take-off
  • Straight flight into wind for 10 sec
  • Procedure turn 90 followed by 270
  • Figure 8
  • 360 descending circle, commencing 200 ft
  • Chandelle, commencing 20 ft
  • Triangular circuit, 100-200 ft
  • Rectangular circuit, approach and landing.

    Flown over 4 rounds on the 1st Saturday of Oct, Dec, and Mar.

    Check with Phil if unsure of weather conditions on the day. If competition is cancelled because of weather it won't be flown that month. Each round to consist of 3 flights, maximum 10 points per manoeuvre. Aggregate of the best two scores count for each round. Best of 3 rounds to count

    Points can be accumulated using the same or a different qualifying model in each round.



    Mike Kendrick Cup


    For any model design

    Ten flight manoeuvres to be flown in sequence.

    • Take-off
    • Straight flight into wind for 10 sec
    • Procedure turn 90 followed by 270
    • Figure 8
    • Stall turn
    • Immelman turn
    • Loop
    • Reversal
    • Overshoot
    • Rectangular circuit, approach and landing


    Flown over 5 rounds on the 1st Saturday of Sept, Nov, Feb and Apr

    Check with Phil if unsure of weather conditions on the day. If competition is cancelled because of weather it won't be flown that month.

    Each round to consist of 3 flights, maximum 10 points per manoeuvre. Aggregate of the best two scores count for each round.

    Best 3 rounds to count

    Points can be accumulated using the same or a different model in each round.



    Fuel Supplies





    Contact Tony to advise your requirements and arrange a time. Don’t forget to take payment for the right amount and your own container with you . It is an environmentally friendly method of container recycling!!! If you haven’t got Tony’s contact details email the club at wanganuiam@gmail.com and they will be passed to you.

    Prices to club members are:-

    • Mixed fuel using Klotz oil $6 per litre
    • Mixed fuel using Mobil R caster oil $4.50 per litre

    • Klotz Oil $17 per litre
    • Mobil R caster oil $11.50 per litre
    • Methanol $3.00 per litre
