Arnold Judas Rimmer
Arnold Rimmer is currently a 'hardlight' hologram of his deceased self....
From his proposed new salute for the Space Corp, to his love for Hammond Organ music, Rimmer is a character full of quirks. Love him or hate him, Red Dwarf just wouldn't be the same without him, and Chris Barrie is the perfect actor to portray him.
Although generally cowardly, small-minded, bureaucratic, incompetent, gutless, spineless, gormless, direction-less, neurotic, underachieving, sniveling, pompous, treacherous, hypocritical, snide, smarmy, double-dealing, backstabbing and selfish, Rimmer has, at times, displayed courage when everything relies on him.
If something cannot be explained (like a whole bog roll being used in one day), Rimmer blames it on Aliens... the crew once recoved a garbage pod... and Rimmer was sure it was an Alien vessel
He also blames his lack of success on his parents and not getting lucky breaks like others.
He blames a lot on being dead, and he blames being dead on Lister who was in stasis when Rimmer failed to repair the driveplate properly which lead to the death of all on board Red Dwarf, except for Lister, his Cat and Holly, the ship's computer.
Arnold also once created a way to 'clone' himself... which was fine until his clone became even worse than the original.... Driving Rimmer too hard.... saying at 2.00am in the morning there was still plenty off time to do study, when you're getting up again at 4:30am! - Following is from episode "Me Squared"
